Charles "Charlie" Hands III Esq.
About
While driving on I-85 South to visit his mother in Georgia, Charles “Charlie” Hands III, Esq., was crashed into by an 18 Wheeler in a rear-end collision, causing Charlie’s vehicle to fly forward and create a chain reaction collision with four vehicles traveling at high speeds.
After direct-mail solicitations from many attorneys across the State of North Carolina, and with the power to choose any law firm, Charlie trusted his uncle, David W. Hands, Esq., and the Hands Law Firm team to maximize his compensation against the large insurance company.
With an understanding of what it’s like to be the injured client, Charlie has vowed to use his talents as a sword to fight for people after life-changing injuries in car, truck, and motorcycle accidents as well as other types of personal injury.
In addition, with his new perspective on life after a potentially fatal collision, Charlie has launched a Family Estate Planning practice that focuses on helping families enhance their lives today and secure their futures tomorrow. He excels in guiding his clients through the often confusing maze of financial and legal decisions to create plans that ensure the well being of their families and the accomplishment of cherished family goals.
Family Estate Planning includes family protection, wealth preservation, and values-based planning, as well as planning strategies for unmarried couples and divorced individuals. Whether you are married or single, with a traditional family or blended one, just starting out, or looking back on a life well-lived, Charlie will help you to craft a plan that achieves your goals for your loved ones today and for years to come.
Charlie, after earning his bachelor’s from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduated in the top 10% of his law school class from North Carolina Central University School of Law (“NCCU”). While at NCCU, Charlie was a NCCU Foundation Scholar, CITI Scholar, Contracts Assistant Professor, and Senior Editor of the NCCU Law Review. Further, Charlie founded the Dean’s Ambassadors Program where he served as Lead Ambassador to Dean Phyliss Craig-Taylor. Charlie was also the only NCCU student chosen to receive the Scholarship and Leadership Award from the American Law Institute, one of the most prestigious legal groups in the United States.
Charlie gained significant experience as a legal intern working with the largest public utility in the United States, Duke Energy. Charlie has also worked as a legal intern for the Honorable Judge Wanda G. Bryant at the North Carolina Court of Appeals.
Outside of the office, Charlie enjoys making new memories with his friends and family.
